You are a prisoner of your own mind.

We are all in the quest for happiness, for a purpose in life. But little do we understand that it is human behaviour and values that impact our happiness, particularly in this materialistic world so many are living in.

When asked “What makes you truly happy?”

His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet replies

“ I never consider myself as something special. If I consider myself something different from the rest, like, I am his holiness Dalai Lama or I am a Nobel Laureate, then I am becoming a prisoner. I forget these thing and consider I am one of the 7 billion human beings. We are mentally, emotionally and intellectually the same. ”

He adds that competitive spirit leads to jealousy. Jealousy leads to frustration and fear. Fear to set yourself free and be open. These make one lonely and detached.

Somewhere, that is so beautifully true.

There are a lot of problems, lot of bad things — both inside and outside of our lives. We are only a tiny tiny tiny dot in this whole wide universe and our problems are tinier. But we give importance to our problems and the negativity.

Thinking solely about oneself with little sense of love and acceptance is the main reason behind unhappiness.

Set yourself free, from the chains of negativity and frustration — Those that stop you from living and loving. Make a conscious decision to be a better human being — the same body, but a better person 🙂
